My research
with Dr. Bidlack was a continuation of a project initiated at the Oklahoma
Medical Research Foundation. Most of the work focused on a mutant strain
of bacteria that demonstrates bile salt sensitivity. We narrowed down the
location of the gene responsible for bile salt resistance / sensitivity and did
lots of DNA amplification and sequencing to further evaluate this
phenomenon. At the moment, I am teaching Biology Labs at the University of
Central Oklahoma while applying for Doctoral programs in Environmental Biology.
